Artificially Inseminating Cattle

June 5, 2011 By Sara

This past Friday Jim (my brother-in-law), Rhonda (my mother-in-law) and I helped Kevin (my husband) artificially inseminate 22 of our cows.  We do this every year, usually the beginning of June so that the calves are born around the middle of March the following year.  Below is a video of what we all have to do in order to AI them.  If you have any questions, please let me know!

Warning:  This is pretty graphic, so I wouldn’t watch this while eating lunch!!!!

Jill and Josie were a little surprised at how AI is performed! Mom and Jim didn’t seem to eager to be identified on camera. Thanks for sharing.
