National Turkey Lover’s Month

June 20, 2013 By Sara

Hello!  Hope you are all having a great week!  June is National Turkey Lover’s Month and I just wanted to share some information and yummy looking recipes with you!

My friend Katie is a fellow Iowa CommonGround volunteer and knows a lot about turkeys.  Her and her husband raise about six flocks or 120,000 turkeys in Iowa each year.  One time she told me that if I was eating a turkey sandwich at a Subway west of the Mississippi River, then I was eating turkey that they raised on their farm.  How cool is that!  Check out her blog for more interesting posts about how they raise their turkeys.
In the mean time, if you are looking for some recipes to try out this summer that have turkey in them, here are some of my favorites from around the Internet.  Enjoy!
