Spicy Guacamole

August 7, 2013 By Sara

Hello!  Hope you’re all having a great week!  I can’t believe that summer is almost over!  School is starting up around here next week already.  We have one more year before HD will be starting preschool!  Crazy!

Anyways, the other day I was at the grocery store and saw some avocados.  So I brought a few home and whipped up some spicy guacamole with some tomatoes, onion and cilantro from my garden.  Enjoy!

Ingredients

2 ripe avocados
1/2 small white onion, diced
1/2 large tomato, diced
3-4 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
1/2 lime, juiced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (I used dried Thai chili peppers that I crushed)
Tortilla chips
Directions
Cut the avocados in half.

Scoop out the insides and place in a medium mixing bowl.  Use a fork to mash the avocado to desired consistency.
Dice the tomato and place it in the mixing bowl.

Then dice the onion and place it in the mixing bowl also.

Chop the cilantro and add it to the bowl.

Add the juice from half of a lime.

Then toss in the salt.

And the pepper.

Then the garlic powder.

And the cayenne pepper.
Mix well and then refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to mingle.

Enjoy!
