Stitch Fix #4

March 13, 2014 By Sara

Back in February I received my forth Stitch Fix box in the mail!  After my last order was a flop due to the sizes being too big (my own fault), I was really excited to see what they sent me in this shipment!  With spring right around the corner, I was hoping to see some pieces that would work for that time of the year and I had requested a few dressier pieces.

The first item I pulled out of the box was this royal blue Ezra racer back dress.  I thought it was really cute, but wasn’t sure what to wear it with.

After looking at the sample card that came with it for some ideas, I came up with this scarf/wrap, skinny turquoise belt, and my nude heels.  This outfit will be perfect for a spring or summertime event.  Plus the dress was really comfortable and doesn’t require any ironing!  That’s a plus in my book!  I decided to keep this first item.

My second item was this Lily geo print jersey skirt.  It was really cute fabric and would be really easy to pack as it would not wrinkle very much either.

You could totally add some color, but I went with black and white on the top.  It was cute, but the skirt just wasn’t my favorite.  It was a little too frilly around the bottom for my taste.  I decided to send this item back.

The third piece in my Stitch Fix order was this 41Hawthorn striped jacket.  At first glance this material reminded me of something that my grandma would wear.  And I usually don’t like horizontal strips, but I thought I’d give it a try.

After looking over the sample card for some ideas, I decided to pair it with some skinny jeans, a navy knit tee, my nude heels, and some silver and pearl jewelry.  After trying it on I decided it actually was kind of cute!  I couldn’t make up my mind, so I asked my sister, Megan.  She was a bunch of her girlfriends and they decided that it was cute, but not for the price.  It was around $80 I believe.  For something that I wasn’t completely sold on, I decided to save my money and send it back.  (I’ve actually seen a lot of this type of jacket in stores recently!)

My fourth item was this hot pink Colourworks sweater tunic.  It was made out of sweater material, but was really thin and light weight.  At first I thought it would be really cute with white dress pants or white skinny jeans, but mine are still packed away.  So I went with my skinny blue jeans since they were still out.

I liked it, but didn’t love it.  I didn’t really care for the length of it.  It was longer on the sides than the front and back.  Again, I think this would have been super cute and springy with white on the bottom, but I decided to send it back also.

My last item was a Tart long sleeved top.  It was black.  I already have a lot of black and I actually have a top very similar to this (that actually fits a lot better).

I tried it on with jeans since it was easy, but I knew that I was going to send it back anyways.

So after all was said and done I only kept the dress.  I ended up having enough credit on my Stitch Fix account from having others sign up under me that it only cost me $5 out of my own pocket!  Not too back for a cute little dress!
I just recently placed my next order.  It should be arriving the beginning of May.  In the comments section, I specified “Summer tops and bottoms!  Color, no black please.  Also, don’t really need any accessories.  Thanks!” on there.  You can be as specific as you want and they will do their best to send you pieces that match your profile and comments!
Check out my first, second, and third Stitch Fix shipments!
Have any of you tried Stitch Fix yet?  What types of pieces did you receive?  I love hearing and seeing what everyone else gets in their box!
