Last Saturday I was able to get the carrots, onions, green beans and edamame planted and then it poured on Sunday. We received 2.3″ inches of rain really fast. I’m hoping my carrots come up in straight rows and weren’t flooded and spread all over the garden! We’ll have to wait and see!
Yesterday I was able to get the green bean trellises finished. I was wanting to try pole beans this year. I’ve been told they are much easier on the back than bending over and picking bush beans. I also wanted to put something in the garden that could entertain the boys for awhile while I weed, so I found some ideas to build tunnels here and here. It seemed like a good idea and I had the panels that I’ve used for tomato plants in the past that I wasn’t going to use this year so it worked perfectly to build the tunnels.
I got everything wired together and when HD came over to check them out he was very excited to run up and down the tunnels. I told them the green beans were going to climb up the fence and hopefully cover the tunnels. He loved it! The only thing is that I might have planted the row of onions a little too close. I might have to figure out a little fence or something to make sure him and AJ don’t run over them!
Your garden looks great and I’ll have to check out that garden program. I’ve seen others use it but didn’t know the source. Thanks for linking up your post Sara!
No problem! I like Linky Parties! And this garden program was so easy to use! It was great!
