First thing I want to say this morning is that my heart goes out to all of those affected by the tornadoes in Pilger, NE yesterday. It is just devastating and heartbreaking to see the destruction that those tornadoes did to that little community and the surrounding area. I know a lot of other farmers that had some major rain, hail, and wind damage with that storm too across parts of Nebraska, Iowa, and Minnesota. It’s just crazy all the storms that Mother Nature has been producing so far this Spring. I hope we’ve seen the worst and it gets better from here on.
With that said, I took these picture last Friday, which was 10 days after our severe storms on June 3rd. All of our soybeans were replanted this past weekend, but the corn we have decided to let it grow and hope that most of it comes out of it. There was another storm coming that night, so a lot of farmers were scrambling trying to get as much planted as they could before they got rained out. Luckily Kevin finished and it only rained a little bit that night in our area.

Kevin farms both his mother’s and his father’s family farms. The corn at his dad’s family farm (the Ross farm) is looking pretty good.

The corn at our place (Kevin’s mom’s family farm) is trying its hardest to come out of it. Again, it’s going to be a wait and see deal with this corn.
