Sara’s Weekly Findings

June 12, 2014 By Sara

Hello!  Happy Saturday morning!  Hope you are all having a good weekend so far.  It’s a busy one again for us.  Kevin’s going to try and replant soybeans today if the storms hold off.  We’re suppose to get severe storms with wind and large hail (AGAIN!) this afternoon and evening.  Ugh!  So we’ll see how much replanting gets done in the area due to the last major storm.  We’ll also be celebrating Father’s Day with some extended family tomorrow.  Fun times!

This week I included two dairy posts because June is National Dairy Month!  So here are some of my favorite posts from this past week!

June is a Dairy Good Month in South Dakota by South Dakota Corn

What is your favorite dairy product? I love cheese, milk, yogurt, but my favorite would have to be ice cream.  We get to enjoy these types of products thanks to dairy farmers!  In South Dakota each dairy cow has a $14,000 economic impact!

Grilled Pineapple Margarita by Shawnda at Confections of a Foodie Bride

I think this drink looks absolutely amazing and I can’t wait to try it!  Grilled pineapple is so good and I just can’t figure out why I don’t make it.  It’s really easy and adding it to a margarita just sounds delicious!

Iowa Ice Cream Trip First Stop at Decorah to “The Whippy Dip”

by Val at Corn, Beans and Kids

Val is working on her family’s annual Summer Bucket List by visiting an ice cream destination weekly during the month of June.  You’ll have to see where this takes her and her family!

The Peony, Beauty of Spring by Sarah at Thrifty Decor Chick

Peonies are such beautiful flowers and I just love when they start to bloom around Memorial Day.  Ours got hit with hail, but the ones that hadn’t bloomed yet might still come out of it.  Sarah shows how she “washes” them to get rid of the ants so she can enjoy them inside!
