September Monthly Recap

September 30, 2014 By Sara

Oh, September, where did you go?  I feel like I’ve been here, there, and everywhere this month.  This month started out with a long, relaxing weekend at home with the family for labor day, but it soon sped up.  I was going to be taking a few trips this month and was tired of my long hair, so I cut over five inches off!  I love my new hairstyle!

The second weekend in September I meet a good friend of mine, Emily, who I haven’t seen in a long time at the Nebraska football game in Lincoln.  It was a beautiful day out and a pretty good game!

Next up was a family trip out to California!  We were with a larger group and got to visit some amazing wineries in Napa Valley, including dinner at Silver Oak one of the nights.  That Saturday we traveled over to Fresno for the Nebraska vs Fresno State football game.  It was miserably hot, but we pulled out the win!

Before we headed home that Sunday, we were able to do a little sightseeing in San Francisco.  September was National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, so I was sporting my Team Jack tshirt near the Golden Gate Bridge.

I was home for about five days before my next trip.  From September 20-27 I was in Beijing, China with these wonderful ladies talking about U.S. agriculture, soybeans, and GMOs.  It was an amazing trip!  There will be quite a few future blog posts with all the details about why we were over there, the sights that we saw, the food that we ate, etc.  So stay tuned!

One place that we did get to visit while overseas was the Great Wall of China.  I’ve had the privilege of having been there before, but it’s so amazing that I’d go back every time if I could!

Even though the trip was a success and I had a great time with all the ladies, it’s still a good feeling to come home.  I missed all of my boys so much.  When I pulled in and they realized I was home, HD and Ax came running across the yard.  HD about knocked me over!  We then proceeded to have some snuggle time on the couch that afternoon.  I was told that the jet lag would be worse coming home, but I think I’m doing pretty good so far!

So that was a really quick wrap-up of my September.  There will be many more posts coming soon with more details.  I can’t wait to share everything with you!

Also, as you can see my new blog is up and running.  We are just putting the finishing touches on it this week!

Oh, and one last thing.  I’m going to be participating in The Nester’s 31 Day Blogging Challenge the month of October!  The challenge is to blog for 31 days straight about a topic of your choice.  Since I’ve been traveling so much lately, here is the topic that I will be writing about!  It starts tomorrow so check back then!
