New York City is my favorite city to visit in the United States. I’ve been there a handful of times and each time we find something new to explore. I love it! A few trips ago I was traveling with my mom and sisters for a long “Girls Weekend” in the Big Apple. I had purchased a travel book that lists the top 10 of everything you could think of to see, do, eat, and stay at in NYC. I found in that little book, Lombardi’s Pizzeria and since it’s National Pizza Month I thought I’d share it with you!
Lombardi’s is located at 32 Spring Street (between Mott & Mulberry) in New York City. It opened in 1897 just down the street from the current location and was the first Pizzeria in America. Over 100 years later it is still one of the best pizzerias in the United States Their pizza is just amazing!
Lombardi’s uses a coal-fired oven that gives the pizza a slight smokey flavor and their most famous pizza is the clam pie. I’ve never had that one, but all the others that we’ve tried over the years have been some of the best pizza I’ve ever had! Since that girls trip to NYC in 2009, I make sure and stop at Lombardi’s every time I’m there! You won’t be disappointed!
Where’s your favorite place to get pizza? Do you like the New York Style or is the Chicago Deep Dish more your style?
