Day 1 of the #write31days blogging challenge is here! As I mentioned in my intro post, my topic this year is 31 Days of Travel Secrets. For Day 1 I’m going to share with you an app that I was told about before my husband’s last trip to China and one that I used a lot on my recent trip over there too. It’s called What’s App. It’s real time messaging that you can use over wifi anywhere in the world. It’s a simple app that you can download to your smartphone and then you use it to basically text anyone else that has the app too.
This app worked great to stay in touch with my family and friends while I was over seas in China last week. Again, it only works in a wifi area, but it seems that most hotels are offering wifi now-a-days, so you can just turn your phone on airplane mode, connect to wifi, and communicate to anyone around the world for free! Just make sure you download this app before your travels abroad and also check with everyone that you will be wanting to stay in touch with to make sure they have the app too! (You don’t have to be traveling overseas to use this app, it works great in the U.S. too!)
What other apps to you find helpful while traveling? Any specific ones that work well overseas? I’ll be sharing a few others during this #write31days! Stay tuned!
