My Day 5 of 31 Days of Travel Secrets is about one of my favorite restaurants of all time. It just happens to be in one of my favorite cities too! It’s called Da Flora and is in San Francisco, CA.
Da Flora is a Venetian restaurant with Hungarian influences, in other words, simply A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! It has been family owned and operated since 1994 and they just recently celebrated their 20th anniversary in August. The quaint restaurant resides at 700 Columbus Ave, San Francisco, CA (reservations: 415-981-4664) in the North Beach area. There are only 11 tables and they prefer parties no larger than six, so reservations are definitely welcomed, especially on their busy nights!
From hand-written menus that can change depending on what the chef buys at the market, to the wine and the food, Da Flora is quite the experience! The first time we went there back in August of 2008 was because of a recommendation from our cab driver. We decided to give it a try and were blown away. From the foccacia, to the gnocchi, to the pasta and other entrees, oh and don’t forget the desserts, everything we had was delicious!
If you are in San Fran for work, vacation, or if you happen to be lucky enough to live there, give this place a try! You won’t be disappointed!
