Stitch Fix #9 Review

May 19, 2015 By Sara

Sara's House Stitch Fix #9 at www.saras-house.com

When I ordered this Stitch Fix shipment it was right before I found out I was expecting.  I had asked for some very specific pieces that I could take with me to the Commodity Classic the end of February (yes this post is way late!), but unfortunately it didn’t arrive in time.  When it did arrive I was very happy to see that I could wear the pieces for a while still (this was back when I thought I was just pregnant with one, not two!)  Here is a recap of what I asked for and received:

Since I was going to be doing some traveling I had asked my personal stylist at Stitch Fix for tops that would travel well.  This top definitely fills that request!  It’s a royal blue blouse and is very light weight, so it doesn’t take up any space in my luggage.  It does get a few wrinkles in it, but nothing that a little steam or a quick ironing won’t take care of!  I loved that this shirt could be dressed up (see below) with a skirt, or worn with jeans for a more casual look.  You could easily wear a blazer or jacket of some kind over it too!  It’s very versatile and that’s what I love about this top.  It was definitely a keeper!

41Hawthorn Rocco Faux Wrap Tank Dress-$84

This navy wrap dress I wasn’t sure about when I first pulled it out of the box.  First of all, I have never found a wrap dress that I like on me.  They always tie in a weird spot across my torso.  But anyways, a casual dress was one of the things that I had asked for and this fit that request also.  It’s made out of a slinky, stretchy, heavier knit and packs fabulously!  I’m not sure you could make it wrinkle, it’s that type of material!  I tried it on and decided that I liked it enough to keep it and that it could be work with a baby bump for a while too!  You could easily dress it up or down.  It’s a perfect dress for this spring and summer and even into the fall/winter if I wore a cardigan or jacket with it.  So this item was a keeper also!

41Hawthorn Teegan Draped Blazer-$78

This jacket was absolutely adorable and I loved the material and fit, but I had JUST bought a black knit casual blazer at Target.  The sleeves could be rolled up and the lapels were different.  It wasn’t like your basic black blazer.  It had some fun details on it.  I texted a picture of it to my sister, Megan, to see if she was interested in it just in case I decided to keep the other four items.  I have found that it is often times cheaper to keep that 5th item and take the 25% discount than it is to send it back.  She said she wanted it, so this went in to the keep pile also!

Andrew Marc Cassian Eyelet Dress-$138

Another specific item of clothing that I had asked my stylist to include was a nicer dress that I could wear to a banquet.  Again, this shipment came after that banquet was already over, but I did wear it to Easter when I was still trying to hide my baby bump.  Although I was told by my brother-in-law that I was going to have to start telling people soon!  I guess trying to hide a twin pregnancy is a little harder than I thought!  🙂  This dress is super comfortable and very classy.  It could be worn alone with some nice jewelry and heels or paired with a colorful blazer to dress it down a little!  It will also pack very easy!  I obviously decided to keep this since I just said I wore it to Easter this year!

The final item sent in this Stitch Fix shipment was this pretty pale pink layered necklace.  This necklace is pale enough that it can actually be worn with a lot of things!  Dressy or casual!  As you can see above I wore it with the black eyelet dress, but I’ve also worn it with a top and jeans too.  It was definitely a keeper!

Final Comments

In the end I decided to keep all five pieces!  I had some Stitch Fix credit that was applied to my total and I also got 25% off the entire order, so the pieces ended up being less expensive that what is listed above.  Right after I found out that I was pregnant, Stitch Fix came out with their maternity line!  So instead of taking a break for the next half a year, I put in for a maternity shipment!  Can’t wait to see what they send me!  Stay tuned!
