Meet Carver and Hollis Ross!

October 29, 2015 By Sara

Hello and happy Friday!  I’d love for you all to meet our twin boys, Carver and Hollis !  They were born on Monday, October 5th at 36.5 weeks old. I honestly can’t believe they are almost 4 weeks old already!

Carver & Hollis Ross

In the picture above, Carver is on the left and Hollis is on the right. They are identical twins although they don’t look exactly alike right now.

Carver Selleck was born at 9:16am.  He weighed 5 lbs 14 oz and was 19.25″ long.

Hollis Claybourn was born at 9:19am.  He weighed 5 lbs 3 oz and was 18.75″ long.

The Ross Boys

Their big brothers were very excited to meet them. We were only in the hospital for two and a half days and they visited them a few times.

Ross Family of Six

Today I would have been 40 weeks pregnant, but these two have already been in our lives for 3.5 weeks and I can’t imagine life without them.  We are very sleep deprived right now, but they are really good babies, so that helps!  And we’ve had LOTS of help from both of our moms (thank you thank you thank you!).

At this point I’d say that Hollis is a little more laid back than Carver, they are both growing like crazy, and are really good sleepers.  I know there were more things about them both that I wanted to share, but that’s all I can think of right now.  I need some sleep!  Going to take a quick nap until they wake me up.  Will probably only be about five minutes long since I swear they can sense when I lay down!  🙂

I’ll post more soon (hopefully)!  You can follow along on Instagram if you want to see more pictures of the boys!  Have a great weekend!

    Hi Sara,

What beautiful little babies you have, and what a lovely family! You must be very busy right now!

I found your website while googling the name of a cousin of my father’s – Hollis Ross. Hollis was the son of Dr. Lamont Ross of Lewisburg, PA. I think that he may have had a son named Hollis, too. I believe that he had a sister named Margaret Ross Steele.

It’s probably a stretch, but I wonder if your family is related to mine?

In any event, I enjoyed looking at the pictures of your sweet babies, and your wonderful family.

    Sincerely,
    Eileen Ross Humphrey

      Eileen-
Thank you for your comment! That’s so cool that you have relation with the same name! I have no idea if we’d be related, Ross obviously comes from my husband’s side and I don’t know of any relatives in the PA area, but could be very distantly! 🙂

        Hi Sara,

I just found your post, and I’m disappointed that we are probably not relatives to your darling family. Wow – I bet that you are busy, but enjoying the little ones!

Is the name Hollis from your husband’s side, or do you just like it? My great uncle Lamont Ross had 3 children, I think. One of the descendants is a vet in the Dakotas – William Marlatt. Is that name familiar?

One of Lamont’s sons was named Hollis, and he had a son named Hollis Jr. There may be a Hollis III, too – I haven’t paid the full membership to ancestry.com yet to get more information.

Anyway, if you do find out that your husband is part of the same Ross family I’d love to know. There are some devout, upright people, and a few black sheep – just like many families, I suppose.

Some of my branch of the Ross family have lived in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and California that I know of. A great great uncle had a huge family, so I’m sure that there are many more descendants out there.

          Eileen-
Hello! Hollis was just a name that my husband came up with and we both liked! We did not do family names for any of our kiddos. None of the names that you mentioned are familiar to me, but who knows, we could all be related very distantly!
