Next week I am heading overseas on an international mission with my I-LEAD class! I’ve been a part of the Iowa Corn Growers Association I-LEAD program for the past year and a half. We have a great group of people who all have something to do with agriculture, whether it be farming, teaching ag, ag law, grain buying and marketing, public relations, etc. We all bring something special to the table and have really grown as individuals and leaders since we began this program in November 2014.
Over a year ago, as a class, we chose Malaysia and The Philippines as the destinations that we wanted to visit for our International Mission. We were looking for countries where we could visit different types of farms than what we are used to here, be able to visit with their government and other agriculture officials, learn about their imports and exports and their connections to the United States, see different industries and infrastructure, etc. So as a class, we voted and we are heading on a 14 day mission starting next week!
We will be landing in Manila, Philippines on Tuesday and then will head to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the 2nd half. We are told that we will have access to the Internet, so I’m hoping to give updates on Instagram and if I have time, here on my blog. Follow along on our amazing adventures!
