Tomorrow I will be presenting at the 5th Annual Iowa Women in Agriculture Conference in Ankeny, IA. They have a great line-up of presenters and I look forward to my presentation/discussion about the women who grow the food and the women who buy it.
My presentation is called “Growing Consumer Trust in Food and Farming”. I will explain the CommonGround consumer outreach program and how we expect this national, grassroots program to impact consumers’ opinions on today’s farming practices.
I will also discuss the philosophy and approach of CommonGround and we’ll have the opportunity to practice this approach together. There are a lot of misconceptions among the influential consumers and the media about today’s food and farming and our goal is to help clear that up!
If you are attending the conference tomorrow, I look forward to meeting you and if you are in the area and are interested in attending, I believe that you can still sign up online and also the morning of the conference.
The conference will be at the FFA Enrichment Center, 1055 SW Prairie Trail Parkway in Ankeny, IA. Below is a schedule of events.
