As you can see from the title, we had a busy weekend and have a full week ahead of us. The baby should arrive in a week, so I’m trying to get all my last minute things done around the house!
For starters, HD had a touch of the flu last week, but he was all better and raring to go by the weekend!
Kevin was out in NE hunting with my dad over the weekend so HD and I got some things done around the house and spent some time outside on Saturday. It was in the mid-70s, but extremely windy! It was the last warm day I think. The next morning, our car doors were frozen shut! What a drastic change in weather in less than 12 hours!

Then we cheered on the Huskers that afternoon! As you can see in the picture below, we got the TV on the wall, but still need to run the electrical cords in the wall, which is Kevin’s weekend project!
After dinner, I started decorating for Christmas! I wanted to get as much done as possible before the baby arrives. I think I got almost everything but the tree done. We always get a real tree, so will have to decorate that in a few weeks!
Sunday morning, I decided I better get these maternity pictures taken just in case the baby came early! I can’t decide if I like it in black and white or in color better! I decided I really need to invest in a wireless remote. Each time I took a set of pictures, I had to set the timer for 10 seconds and then hurry over to the bed. Luckily HD cooperated for a few pictures!
After that, we got ready for church (HD was going for the preppy cowboy look).
That afternoon HD got to go to a Husker men’s basketball game with Grandma in Lincoln. From the sound of it, he really enjoyed the game, but liked the half time show even more! The half time show consisted of dogs doing tricks with basketballs I guess.
Now, it’s the last week before baby arrives, so I’m tying up loose ends at work and getting a few other things done. I also had my last doctor’s appointment today. Can’t believe the next time I see the doctor it will be to deliver Baby boy or girl Ross!
I’m going to try to get a few blog posts ready to go while I’m out on maternity leave, but we’ll have to see how things go! I’ll definitely be posting a baby announcement, so stay tuned for that!
You look great, Sara! My first baby was born in November, so this month always brings some sentimental moments for me. I think I should be coming home from the hospital with a newborn again because that’s what this time of year feels like, but then I remember that it was seven years ago (this Saturday) and not yesterday! Anyway, November is a great time to have a baby, and I wish you and your family the best. Looking forward to reading about the new November baby!
Thank you! 🙂
I think the photos that you took of you and HD turned out great, especially for using the self-timer. I think I like the color one best. Good luck getting everything ready for the new baby. Congratulations early!
Thanks! 🙂
