National Corn Growers

October 2, 2013 By Sara

About two and a half months ago Kevin and I headed to Washington D.C. for a National Corn Growers Association meeting.  Kevin has gone every year since 2006, which was the last time I was there.
Kevin was in meetings pretty much the entire time we were there, but luckily there were some other wives there that have become good friends of mine through the Corn Growers so we toured all over D.C. together.
During one of the morning sessions of meetings, were the elections for director positions for the National Corn Growers board.  Kevin had previously decided that he was going to run this year.  His four years on the Iowa Corn executive board were up and it seemed like it was the right time to run for a national position.  I’m happy to say that he was elected!
His three year term official began today, but he had his first board meeting a few weeks ago in St. Louis.  We had decided to drive down to St. Louis for his meeting and then continue on to Texas for a family vacation before harvest started.  We were gone a total of 10 days and hit 12 states along our way. We had a great time together and the boys were real troopers with all the driving.  I can’t wait to share all the places we visited and ate at in some upcoming posts!

Kevin, I know I don’t say this much, but I’ve very proud of you and excited to see where the next three years lead us!
