4th of July Weekend Recap

July 8, 2014 By Sara

Hello!  I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July weekend!  Ours was great, and busy, but great!  We started Friday morning off by putting on the Underwood 4th of July Parade in our little town.  Kevin and I along with seven other Pottawattamie County Corn & Soybean Growers managed to pull it off successfully again this year.

After that, it was time to hang out with the Ross family.  The “official” reunion didn’t start until Saturday morning, but almost everyone was around already.  Underwood, IA has 4th of July festivities all day long starting with a 5k run in the morning and finishing off with fireworks at night.

Saturday morning was the beginning of the Ross family reunion.  They have this every three years at the Ross farm, which is where Kevin’s brother Jim and his wife Nancy live now.

Over the next two days we played yard games, ate, talked, ate, played Ross Family Trivial Pursuit, and ate some more!  Can you see the pattern there?

Both days we had some very tired little boys!

Axten decided that bubble didn’t really taste that good.

It was a great weekend and fun was had by all!  Hudson asked if we could do it again soon and I told him we would in three years.  I also told him that he would be seven by that time and now he can’t wait to turn seven!
