How to Plan Your Next Trip Using Evernote

How To Plan Your Next Trip Using Evernote

It always seems like there’s a hundred things to do before we can leave for a trip.  Do you feel that way too?  If we are not traveling with the boys, then I’m getting their bags packed, figuring out their schedules while we are gone, on top of all my stuff I need to get ready and everything Kevin has to do on the farm before we can leave.

In order to keep all that straight I use an app called Evernote.  I came across this app about three and a half years ago and continue to use it daily for everything!  From to-do lists at home and work, to planning the boys’ birthday parties, to Christmas gift ideas for the family, to planning trips, I use it ALL-THE-TIME!

Evernote is a workspace that you can use to do things like make short lists all the way up to lengthy research!  It’s a place to collect your thoughts and a place to share your ideas with others.  The nice thing about it is that you can sync it across all your devices.  Whether you use a desktop, laptop, smartphone or tablet (or a combination of them) it will sync so no matter what electronic device you are using you can have all your notes and information right there in your Evernote app.

I’ve only used the free version, but there is a Premium and Business level that you can purchase for monthly fees depending on how you are planning on using it.  The free version has done everything that I’ve needed it to do and more!

A reader named Christy, told me that she uses Evernote to plan her trips  and then she saves the notes offline so she can access them anywhere.  Before a trip I’m always making my to-do lists of things I need to do before I leave, then I create a packing list, and then depending on the trip I may make a list of sites, restaurants, places we want to see while we are traveling.  It’s so handy and helpful, I don’t know what I’d do with out it!
