My New Favorite Shoes

October 4, 2014 By Sara

My New Favorite Shoes-Tieks

A few weeks ago I was off to Beijing, China with a group of fantastic farm women.  I knew we’d be on the go the entire time we were over there and I wanted a pair of shoes that would 1.) be extremely comfortable to walk around in, 2.) go with a lot of different outfits, both dressy and casual, 3.) be easy to pack.

Tieks-Blue Box

I’d heard about Tieks before, but had never owned a pair.  I thought that they would be the perfect shoe to take along with me to China.  They came in the cutest package and were so lightweight.  I choose the matte black color for my first pair, but there are so many other colors that I’d love to get my hands on!

I only got to wear them for two days before the trip, so I was basically breaking them in the entire trip, but they were so comfortable right out of the package that it didn’t really even matter.

Tiananmen Square-Beijing, China

They walked all over China, Tiananmen Square, the Silk Market, to our meetings, out to dinner, etc.  They went with everything!  I pretty much wore them the entire time other than when we went to the Great Wall because it was raining that day.

By the time I got home they were fitting my feet perfectly.  The Tieks have a nice thick sole so they were a good walking shoe.  My feet never hurt from wearing them at all and some days we were up and on the move from early morning to late at night.  If you are looking for a new ballet flats that 1.) are extremely comfortable to walk around in, 2.) go with a lot of different outfits, both dressy and casual, 3.) are easy to pack, then Tieks are your shoe!

Bookmarking this for my year long trip to Europe! How do you think they will hold up against wear and tear? I completely wore down the sole of my boots after being in Paris for 3 months because of how much walking I did.

Oh, geez! You must have done a ton of walking! Since I’ve only had then for a few week, I can’t really say how well they would hold up when it comes to what you’re talking about, but I’d say that they are really durable and like I mentioned in the post, extremely comfortable! A year long trip sounds amazing! Totally jealous!

I’ve never heard of this brand before. I actually live in China and our lifestyle involves lots of walking so comfy shoes are a must! And all too many ballet flats really aren’t comfortable!

I agree Rachel! Tieks are the first ballet flat that I can wear all day long! Love them!
