Crop Update

August 5, 2015 By Sara

Oh, my! Where is the summer going? I was planning on taking weekly photos of the boys by the crops to show how they are growing, but my last post was from June 24th! Crazy!

I did manage to get a good one of them on the 4th of July that I shared on social media:

And this photo is from July 14th when our first planted field of corn was just starting to tassel:

And finally here are a few current photos of the boys by our first planted fields of corn and soybeans from today.  We took them out and they checked to see how many kernels were on the ears of corn.  It’s not looking too bad right now, but we’re going to need a few good months to get them to fill out completely.  Kevin said the soybeans are looking pretty good at this point.  So we’ll see what August and September bring us as far as weather goes!  Keeping our fingers crossed!

    Sara,

Great shots but I noticed the little guys are wearing a lot of Iowa state gear. Does NE get equal time, or does your IA location dictate the rules?

And congrats on your boy news! Wow – that’s a whole lotta boy power at the Ross household.

      Becky-
Haha, well ISU clothing usually rules in this house, but once in a while I can get the boys to sport a NE tshirt! I, of course, wear NE tshirts all the time! 🙂 Hudson says, “Daddy likes Iowa State and Mommy like the Huskers.” And then I ask who he likes and he thinks a minute, “Both!” 🙂
